On Wednesday, the GC baseball team extended their winning streak to 9 defeating the Clarenceville Trojans for the second time in three days, 12-1 in five innings. Kevin Widmer was spectacular on the mound, cruising through 5 innings of work. Widmer did not allow a base-runner or a hit until the fifth inning. He finished with 5 IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 10K, and 0BB. At the plate, the Cougars were led by senior Thomas Catton, who went 1-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and junior Jacob Monteith, who also went 1-3 with a double and 3 RBI. The win improved the Cougars record to 9-0 overall and 2-0 in the WWAC. GC returns to action Saturday, 4/13, at 11am against Livonia Franklin for a non-conference doubleheader at Franklin High School.
